For the third year in a row, Google asked us to create Zeitgeist, an annual year-in-review video told through Google Search. Why Search? Because what we searched for tells us not only where we’ve been, but also what we strive for and where we’re going.
But how do you squeeze a year into three minutes? You start with everything. A million stories: major, minor; local, global. Stories about adversity; stories about hope. Laughter, tears, and everything in between. Heroes, underdogs, and champions. Tragedy. Victory. Upheaval. Loss. Recovery. Then you take all those stories, and use them to tell a big one.
This is the story of 2012.
